Carpet Installation
explore the available installation techniques and necessary preparation

Once you’ve decided on a beautiful new carpet for your home, it’s time to prepare for its installation. Our installers are experienced professionals trained to provide the quickest and highest quality installation available. We recognize that our customers’ time is invaluable. As a result, our desire is to create the least amount of impact possible to your home and family. In order to help us achieve that goal several actions are necessary prior to installation.

  1. Each installer has communicated with your Flooring Specialist to determine the best possible means for your custom installation. We provide free estimates prior to installation. This helps us get an accurate understanding of your home. Oftentimes, our installers will have a diagram of your home to guide the installation process.
  2. Big Bob’s is willing to remove all large furniture from the necessary rooms with very few exceptions. However, our installers will only move large furniture and we ask that alls knick-knacks, books, etc. be boxed prior to the day of installation. We ask that some sensitive electronic equipment, furniture, or art be moved prior to the installer’s arrival. Your Flooring Specialist will verify what furniture we will remove from the home. You also reserve the right to move your own furniture prior to installation.
  3. All carpet installation produces seams. The majority of seams are not noticeable to you or your guests. However, some carpets will show their seams more than others. Your Flooring Specialist will cover seam placement and visibility with you prior to installation to make sure you receive 100% satisfaction.
  4. Our installers will leave your home in excellent condition. They vacuum your floor prior to departure to showcase the wonderful transformation of your home.
  5. If any questions or problems arise during installation, our installers will immediately contact your Flooring Specialist to receive direction. Combining a thorough knowledge of your home, years of industry experience, and superb product knowledge, your Flooring Specialist will development a plan of action that will result in a quick and convenient solution for you and your family.

Following installation you might notice some changes in your carpet. These changes are natural and should not cause you any alarm.

  • Shedding – loose fibers might begin coming away from your carpet. This is normal for staple carpets and should begin reducing after several vacuum runs.
  • Sprouting – small tufts or loops of carpet might occasionally come loose. Use a pair of scissors to trim these areas immediately to prevent further problems.
