Carpet styles
Carpets come in five primary styles for the residential buyer.
 
Textured – alternated yarn twists that create an informal appearance. Works well in a variety of settings including family rooms, game rooms, etc. Conceals footprints and vacuum marks.
Saxony – uniformed twists that create a formal and elegant appearance. Excellent choice for bedrooms, dining rooms or formal living rooms. Footprints and vacuum marks are evident.
Twist Frieze Example Twist (Frieze) – tightly twisted yarns that create a casual, durable carpet. These carpets are great for high-traffic areas and come in a variety of fun colors and styles.
Berber Example Looped (Berbers) – often referred to as Berbers, these uncut carpets are very durable due to their construction. Though seams might be more apparent, looped carpets are a great long-lasting performer.
Patterned Carpet Example Patterned (Cut and Loop) – cut and looped yarns are combined to create an endless array of patterns. These fashionable carpets tend to be durable and go well in formal and informal settings.
