Sizes – tile sizes range from sheets of 2” tiles to 24” tiles. Size is an important component in shaping your home’s appearance. Additionally, tiles are not always the exact same size which means that larger grout lines must be used to ensure alignment. Rectified tiles possess guaranteed uniformity that can be used to create grout lines down to 1/8”.

Body – a tiles body can be composed of a variety of materials depending on the type of tile. Ceramic or porcelain tiles will constructed of different types of clay with different coloration. This coloration will usually be hidden unless a rare chip occurs. In which case, the body of the tile might stand out against the tile’s surface. Tiles are available for purchase that have a thru-body. These tiles have a body that is colored similar to the outside, producing less obvious contrast between a chip and the tile’s surface.

Usage – Each tile is graded for different levels of usage. These grades range from wall tile that cannot stand up to the wear of foot traffic, residential tile meant for the lighter traffic of a home, or commercial tile that holds up to large amounts of traffic.
